📖 How to Use

Simple Scoreboard is a web app for tracking scores across multiple teams.

  • Number of teams: Supports 2 to 20 teams. Pick 11 or more and the cards wrap onto extra rows to fit your screen.
  • Score input: Use the +/− buttons on each team card to adjust scores. You can also enter a custom value and apply it with the +Custom / −Custom buttons.
  • Undo: The “Undo” button reverses the last score change for that team.
  • Direct score edit: Double-click a score number to enter a value directly. Press Enter to confirm, or Escape to cancel.
  • Sound effects: Toggle the “Sound” button in the settings bar to enable/disable sound feedback (off by default).
  • Auto-save: Scores, team names, and history are saved in your browser automatically.
  • Rankings: Click “Show Rankings” to display live rank badges with medal icons.
  • Sort: “Sort by Score” reorders teams from highest to lowest score.
  • Team name: Click a team name to edit it.
  • Save Score: Records a snapshot of current scores to the history log.
  • Full Screen: Expands the board — great for projectors and large displays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to install an app?

No. This is a browser-based digital scoreboard, so it works on a phone, tablet, or computer with no install and no sign-up. It is free to use with no limit on how often you run it.

How many teams can I score at once?

Between 2 and 20. Change the “Teams” setting at the top and the board re-arranges itself, so everything from a two-player match to a twenty-team tournament fits on one score sheet. You can rename every team, and the colour along the top of each card keeps them easy to tell apart.

Can I keep a record of the score as the game goes on?

Yes. Press “Save Score” and the current points for every team are stored in the history with a timestamp. Save after each set or round and you get a full score sheet of how the game unfolded.

Will my scores survive closing the page?

Yes. Scores, team names, and history are saved automatically in your browser, so you can pick up where you left off if the page is closed by accident. Use “Reset All Scores” when you start a new game.
