What is 12 percent of 1,000?
1,000 × 12 ÷ 100 = 120. In general, B percent of A equals A × B ÷ 100. Likewise, 60 percent of 11 is 6.6, and 20 percent of 200 is 40. Enter the two numbers in the “What is B% of A?” tab to get the result with the formula shown.
How do I convert a decimal or fraction to a percentage?
Multiply by 100. For example, 0.02 is 2 percent, 1.02 is 102 percent, and 1/10000 (= 0.0001) is 0.01 percent. To convert a percentage back to a decimal, divide by 100.
What is the formula for “what percent is A of B”?
A ÷ B × 100. For example, 12 is 30 percent of 40, because 12 ÷ 40 × 100 = 30. Enter the two numbers in the “What % is A of B?” tab and the percentage is calculated automatically.
What is the percent change formula?
(new value − old value) ÷ old value × 100. Going from 100 to 120 is +20 percent, while going from 120 to 100 is about −16.7 percent. Use the “% Change” tab to calculate it automatically.
