How to Use
- Enter your code: Paste HTML, CSS, and JavaScript into their own text areas.
- Preview: HTML and CSS are auto-saved and previewed while you type. JavaScript in the JavaScript editor or in HTML scripts and event handlers runs in the preview only when you check “Run JavaScript” and press “Update Preview”. It does not run while typing or when the page reloads. Use the size buttons to switch the preview width.
- Preview limits: The preview runs in an isolated frame. It cannot access the parent page, cookies, storage, pop-ups, form submission, or alert, confirm, and prompt dialogs. An infinite loop can make the whole browser tab running this app unresponsive, not just the preview. Run trusted code only.
- Open in new tab: The “Run JavaScript” setting controls whether scripts are enabled in the isolated tab. If you choose to run a script and the tab stops responding, close that tab.
- Download HTML: The “Run JavaScript” setting controls whether JavaScript is enabled in the downloaded HTML file. When enabled, the file runs JavaScript as a regular HTML page, so save and open trusted code only.
- Auto-save: Your code is saved in this browser automatically, so you can reload the page and pick up right where you left off.
