How to run a live poll
- Enter a question and options. Choose a response type and when results become visible, then create the poll.
- Share the QR code or participant link. Participants can respond on their phones without an account.
- Review the totals and close voting. Results refresh about every three seconds. Organizers can show the poll full screen and save a CSV.
Capacity, data retention, and privacy
Each poll accepts up to 30 responses. A production load test with 30 simultaneous participants has not been performed. Each poll has one question and 2–10 options. Questions and options cannot be edited after creation.
A poll expires three hours after it is created. Responses, viewing, and CSV export stop after expiration. Save any results you need before then. Expired data is removed by a scheduled site task, which may run later than the expiration time.
Names are not collected. A response credential is stored in the browser; the server stores its hash and the response. Organizers see totals only. An IP address hash is temporarily used to limit abuse. The tool cannot prevent someone from voting from multiple devices or after clearing browser storage.
When results are set to appear after closing, organizers can still see totals while voting is open. Reopening voting hides the results from participants again.
