DNS Record Checker

Check A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, CNAME, and other DNS records for a domain. Useful for checking website destinations, mail settings, and DNS changes.

Enter a domain such as example.com, or paste a full URL. The tool extracts the hostname and converts internationalized domain names to Punycode.

How to use

  1. Enter a domain name such as google.com. You can paste a full URL like https://example.com/page/; the scheme and path are removed.
  2. Select Check or press Enter to look up A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, and CNAME records.
  3. Internationalized domain names are converted to the Punycode format used by DNS. The normalized hostname is shown while the lookup runs.
  4. Use the copy button beside a record value to copy it.
  5. After changing DNS settings, allow time for cached results and TTL values to expire before checking again.

DNS record types

Type What it shows
A An IPv4 address associated with a domain, often used to check a website destination.
AAAA An IPv6 address associated with a domain.
CNAME An alias that points one hostname to another.
MX Mail exchange servers used to receive email for a domain.
NS Name servers responsible for the domain’s DNS zone.
TXT Text data commonly used for SPF, DKIM, and domain ownership verification.

TTL is shown in seconds and indicates how long a DNS response may be cached. Lookups are sent to Google Public DNS at dns.google. Recent DNS changes may not appear immediately.
