No sound file selected (using default Click)
Short click sounds work best. Beat 1 of each bar is automatically pitched slightly higher. Audio plays locally only and is never uploaded (reload resets to the default sound). Create your own click with the Synth Sound Generator.
Space: START/STOP │ Arrow: BPM ±1 │ Shift+Arrow: BPM ±10
⚠ On phones, sound may be muted in silent / vibrate mode. If you hear nothing, check the hardware mute switch and volume.
What is a metronome?
A metronome clicks at a steady interval to guide your rhythm and tempo.
Use it for instrument practice, presentation pacing, workout timing, or any task where you want to keep a consistent speed.
Tips
-
BPM (beats per minute)
How many beats occur in one minute. Higher numbers mean a faster tempo.
Example: a clock second hand ticks at 60 BPM. -
Beat (time signature)
In 4/4, every 4th beat is accented; in 3/4, every 3rd beat is accented.
Match the setting to the rhythm of the piece you are playing. -
TAP tempo
Click the TAP button several times along with the music or clapping you hear.
The tool measures the interval and sets the BPM automatically. Handy when you want to know a song’s tempo. -
Sound
Click is the classic tick, Wood is a warmer block tone, and Cowbell is a metallic ring.
Switch to whatever fits your practice mood. Your choice is saved automatically. -
Keyboard shortcuts (PC)
Space toggles START/STOP, arrow keys change BPM by 1, and Shift+arrow keys change BPM by 10.
Useful when you want hands-free control during practice. -
Auto-save
BPM, time signature, volume, and sound settings are saved in your browser and restored next time.
