Frequently Asked Questions
Can I read QR codes on a PC?
Yes. On a PC with a webcam you can use “Scan with Camera”; without a camera, use “Read from Image” to load a QR code image or screenshot. No smartphone app is required.
Can I check the contents from a QR code image or screenshot?
Yes. On the “Read from Image” tab, drag & drop or select an image file (PNG / JPG / GIF / WebP), and the QR code inside is decoded and displayed.
Is the scanned data sent anywhere?
No. Camera frames and images are processed entirely within your browser (on your device); the QR code contents are never sent to an external server.
What if the camera will not start or is unavailable?
First check your browser’s camera permission. If it still will not work, or on devices without a camera, use “Read from Image” to decode from an image file.
What types of QR codes are supported?
It automatically detects URLs, email addresses, phone numbers, and text, and shows an action button (“Open URL”, “Open Email”, “Call”) accordingly. Scanned content is also saved to the history.
